Get an introductory tour to use the Apple Music, iTunes, and Photos apps. Learn the different platforms for music streaming and key elements of great photo editing, from quick fixes to fine adjustments. Topics include: the basics of importing downloading streaming navigating playlists searching playing sharing editing photos videos albums, and more. You may bring your own Apple device.
Bring your fully charged Apple iPhone or iPad to this class and start getting comfortable using it for many of the marvelous actions it can perform for you. You will be introduced to changing settings, sending email, taking photos and videos, sending photos, and basic troubleshooting. Other topics requested by students will also be covered, time-permitting. Please Note: For classes that meet at the Bronxville School, room assignments are subject to change. Please check the schedule at the Elementary Entrance on the first night of class.
Apple Service Fundamentals is a 3-day course that teaches students the skills they need to handle face-to-face customer interactions involving all Apple devices. Successful completion of the Apple Service Fundamentals Exam (SVC-16A) fulfills the prerequisite for Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT) 2016 and Apple Certified iOS Technician (ACiT) 2016 certification. Interactive discussions and hands-on exercises guide students through the best way to manage customer interactions, the required safety precautions, and basic troubleshooting skills.
Mac OS X Server Essentials is a three-day course designed to give technical coordinators and entry-level system administrators the skills, tools, and knowledge to implement and maintain a network that uses Mac OS X Server. Students learn how to install and configure Mac OS X Server to provide network-based services, such as file sharing, authentication, and printing. Tools for efficiently managing and deploying Mac OS X and software updates are also covered. The course is a combination of lectures and hands-on case study exercises that provide practical real-world experience.
MacOS Support Essentials is a three-day, hands-on course that provides an in-depth exploration of troubleshooting on macOS Sierra. This course is designed to give students a tour of the breadth of macOS Sierra and the best methods for effectively supporting users of macOS Sierra systems. The Borough of Manhattan Community College Center for Continuing Education & Workforce Development is launching the ACE Coding Academy to give students the latest cutting-edge coding skills and training on app development with Swift. Swift is a robust and intuitive programming language created by Apple for building apps for iOS, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch. In the App Development course using Swift, students will learn to code and design fully functional apps, gaining critical job skills in software development and information technology.
