Wed, December 6, 2017 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM EST DESCRIPTION Cities not just in the United States but worldwide are becoming hubs of innovation in their own right, sometimes with the help of (and sometimes despite) state and or federal governments. More and more layers of information are being made available to citizens, but the tools for understanding and engaging with that information is still in its infancy, and citizens are not always enthusiastic to learn more about sometimes boring and bureaucratic processes. Some questions we'll dig into include: Can immersive computing and the techniques coming from the gaming and mixed realities industries help citizens understand and engage with their cities in more meaningful ways? How can mixed realities help us build the cities we want and create a more equitable and flourishing society?
