This conference will bring together top technologists, campaigners, hackers, government officials, journalists, opinion-makers,  and academics for two days of game-changing talks, workshops, and networking opportunities - celebrating the power and potential of tech to make real change happen.

These are not normal times in America. Democracy has never seemed at greater risk, and also has never seemed more alive. We have a present danger to resist and a better future to build.

If there is a silver lining to our challenging times, it is this: thanks to technology, we are hyper-connected and hyper-powered like never before. We, the people, are reviving old forms and inventing new ones. We are swarms and Slacks, marchers and petitioners, town-hallers, flash mobbers, hashtag activists and network weavers, allies, dreamers, resisters, leakers, and most of all community leaders.

This is What We Do Now, our theme for PDF 2017.
