ABOUT Pluto Power Shift is a monthly after-work panel series curated by the Pluto team. Our goal is to bring together the brightest minds in Diversity & Inclusion to speak about why these issues matter, especially for companies who are starting to develop their efforts and enjoy hearing some advice. The buzz around effective diversity & inclusion has never been higher, but where’s the plan of action? Pluto is starting the conversation by establishing that D&I is a need to have, not a nice to have. But, how does a company navigate this unfamiliar territory?  This month's panel will discuss how companies can take concrete steps building diverse and inclusive work cultures regardless of their size. Our speakers will elaborate on their own experience, their D&I efforts at their company and other strategies to improve culture. Topics to include: transparency, accountability, company culture, and leadership. We look forward to you joining us there! **Want to attend, but short on change? No worries! E-mail us at events@pluto.life for a template to request your employer to reimburse you or pay for your ticket.** EVENT AGENDA 6:30 pm - Doors open and networking 6:55 pm - Panelists intros 7 pm - 7:45 pm - Discussion 7:50 pm - 8 pm - Q&A and close PANELISTS Rachel Renock (CEO, Wethos) Tony Gaston (Director of Business Solutions, Per Scholas) Meghan Catucci (Content Strategist, NewsCred) Ryan Lathrum (Community & Inclusion Manager, Jet) Anita Hossain (Head of Knowledge, First Round) MORE ABOUT OUR PANELISTS Rachel Renock (CEO, Wethos) A former advertising creative, Renock quit her job at 25 to launch Wethos in pursuit of a mission to connect people with more meaningful work. Since the launch in 2016, she’s been featured in Forbes & Tech Crunch for raising $1M in VC funding, landed on the cover of the New York Times for breaking the silence on a culture of sexual harassment, and was featured at Politico’s Women Rule Summit to frankly discuss sexism and sexual harassment to a nation-wide audience. As a member of the LGBTQ community in a politically charged world, she believes that now more than ever people must speak up for what is right and has made it her mission to empower organizations committed to pushing us toward a more equitable world. Tony Gaston (Director of Business Solutions, Per Scholas) Tony Gaston is the Senior Manager of Business Solutions at Per Scholas where he has worked for almost the past 6 years. In this role, he is responsible for developing sound business strategies to increase corporate client engagement. As the direct liaison between businesses looking to hire and Per Scholas students, Tony plays an integral part in ensuring that Per Scholas' students get a job. Prior to joining Per Scholas Tony was a Project Coordinator for Grand Street Settlement, where he focused on Youth Initiatives. Tony, additionally has over 11 years of private consulting experience, during which time he has worked on various marketing and branding projects for small-medium sized organizations. In his spare time he is an avid writer, an aspiring guitarist and a spoken word performer.  Meghan Catucci (Content Strategist, NewsCred) Meghan Catucci is a content strategist at NewsCred, where she works with B2C and healthcare clients to drive successful content marketing campaigns that deliver on business goals. She has a master's in journalism from Columbia University, where her thesis focused on blacks in tech in NYC. Her dedication to diversity and inclusion is driven in part by her own biracial background, as well as a passion for learning how to make workplace culture a positive, inclusive and inspiring extension of our daily lives. Ryan Lathrum (Community & Inclusion Manager, Jet) Ryan is honored to lead to the Community & Inclusion team at Jet & Walmart eCommerce. Super passionate about the employee experience, Ryan launched Employee Resource Groups at Jet, re-launched the clubs platform, and introduced an eComm Culture Network. Employees in eComm have many ways to step up and truly own a piece of the culture. Before jet.com, Ryan worked at American Express on the D&I team leading the Employee Network platform, and prior to that built a career in higher education in academic advising, and student engagement.  Anita Hossain (Head of Knowledge, First Round) Anita leads the knowledge program at First Round, where she designs and launches initiatives – from summits to unconferences to masterclasses and more – that provide entrepreneurs and tech operators resources to stay motivated, accelerate their businesses, and build community. Anita is also an executive coach and group facilitator at Reboot where she supports clients on their journeys to become the most effective and intentional leaders they can be. She loves traveling without itineraries, cooking (but mainly eating) Bengali food, and hosting murder mystery nights.
